| Bio | Col. Walcot served in the short-lived Suez campaign of 1956 and afterwards in Libya. He then studied Arabic at Durham University and at the Middle East Centre for Arab Studies before being posted to the Trucial Oman Scouts from 1962 to 1964 as a Desert Intelligence Officer. He was Defence and Military Attach at the British Embassy in Riyadh from 1986 to 1988 and served on the Council of the Society from 1996 to 2002 |
