| Bio | Carol Turner began travelling to remote places in 1993 when working with John Blashford-Snell of the Scientific Exploration Society. She was drawn to the Himalaya region exploring the Provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan in south-west China. Now her commitment is to promote community-based educational projects for rural Tibetans. She set up the Shuxiong Tibetan Schools Fund and, with one school completed, two more are in the process of being built. As a guide she organizes and leads her own groups and works for commercial travel companies, guiding tours to Yunnan and Sichuan. |
