| Bio | Sir CrispinTickell is Director of the Green College Centre for Environmental Policy and Understanding. He has also been Chancellor of the University of Kent at Canterbury, Chairman of the Climate Institute of Washington, DC and President of the Earth Centre in South Yorkshire. In his distinguished career in the Diplomatic Service, Sir Crispin was Chef de Cabinet to the President of the European Commission (1977-80), Ambassador to Mexico (1981-83) and British Permanent Representative to the United Nations (1987-90). He has been Convenor of the Government Panel on Sustainable Development (1994-2000). He is now a member of two Government Task Forces: on Urban Regeneration and on New Earth Objects. Sir Crispin is author of Climate Changeand WorldAffairs (1977, 1986) and has contributed to many books on environmental issues. He is currently involved in the preparation for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, to be convened in Johannesburg in September, 2002, particularly as Co-Chairman of the Eminent Persons Regional Roundtable for Europe and North America. |
