Rev. John Ray

Bio The Revd. John Ray lived for a quarter of a century in the centre of Srinagar, had a front seat in the drama and knew some of the leading actors in the Kashmir saga. From 1970 to 1986 he was Unofficial Correspondent in Kashmir for the British High Commission, New Delhi. During this period he was Principal of the Tyndale Biscoe School in Srinigar. From 1981 to 1986 he was also Secretary of the Church of North India Diocese of Amritsar. Before going to Kashmir, John Ray had worked as a housemaster at Lawrence College, Ghora Gali, Pakistan and previously on the staff of Gordonstoun School in Scotland.
