Bio Syed Badrul Ahsan was born in 1954, went to school in Quetta, Pakistan, and graduated in English literature from Dhaka University in 1979. He started teaching at Notre Dame College, Dhaka, in 1982. Within a few years, he took up print journalism, working for various English language newspapers in Bangladesh. He was also media spokesperson for the Bangladesh High Commission in London, 1997-2000. He is currently deputy editor of New Age, a daily newspaper published from Dhaka.
