Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul

Although not arriving in the UK until 2011, it is worth making a note about the above.

This exhibition explores the cultural heritage of ancient Afghanistan from the Bronze Age through the rise of trade along the Silk Roads in the first century of our era. The nearly 230 works on view include gold objects from the famed Bactrian Hoard; fragmentary gold vases from northern Afghanistan; items from the former Greek city of Aï Khanum and trade goods from Begram. The exhibition in Bonn from 11 June to 3 October 2010 and arrives at the British Museum in the Spring of 2011.
