Membership of the Society offers benefit to anyone interested in current affairs, economics, finance, history, art, archaeology, sociology, culture, travel and other subjects relevant to the various parts of Asia.

Meetings are held twice a month, at which lectures are given by authoritative speakers. Social functions include an annual dinner, an afternoon tea party in the summer, an anniversary meeting, buffets at lunch-time meetings and refreshments at evening lectures. Tours are specially organised by the Society in most years, to enable a group of members to make detailed visits to different parts of Asia. The rules of the Society are available for members by request from the office.

A lower subscription rate applies to Junior Members, who have the same benefits as other members. The Junior Members' Meeting is a forum for talks by a panel of young speakers. At intervals, expeditions are organised for groups of Junior Members. A report on the 2005 Junior Members' Meeting, in Adobe Acrobat format, is attached to this webpage.
