| Introduction | Sixteen years after the so-called collapse of Communism, our 2007 tour took us to three countries still ruled by Communist regimes. The three-week tour, from 28 October to 8 November, was arranged by a UK travel company well known to the Society, and was enjoyed by a group of 24, led by our Secretary. We were fortunate in having with us a ï¬rst-class guest lecturer in Dr Peter Sharrock of SOAS, whose talks gave us valuable insights throughout the tour, as well as a series of local guides of variable quality, of whom Vietnam produced the best. |
